Things I built and did on my second car.
Build timeline
I wrapped the car light blue. Unfortunately, I was never able to finish the wrap as I had an accident with the car before it was finished. The skills from learning to wrap the car however, proved to be useful many times for applying decals and commercial wraps later.
I built a 2-inch trailer hitch that attaches in place of the rear crash bar. My Honda Fit's frame rails were too rusty to safely install an aftermarket hitch, and no 2-inch versions were available. I built one using 2-inch square steel tubing and 1/4-inch steel plate, attaching it to the rear crash bar mounts.
I removed the car's muffler and installed a set of motorcycle exhaust pipes. The pipes were originally made for a V-twin motorcycle. I cut and welded them to sit horizontally rather than vertically. The pipes were originally baffled. I removed the baffles on one side and left them on the other. I made a block-off plate for the unbaffled side, allowing the car to run in a straight-piped or muffled configuration.
